MAXIMUM SICK LEAVE. Sick leave will accumulate to a maximum of 260 days. However, the maximum days of sick leave for the purposes of payment for unused sick leave/severance pay shall not exceed 240 days.

MAXIMUM SICK LEAVE. An employee may accrue sick leave up to a maximum of 960 hours. After 960 hours of sick leave have been accumulated, an employee will be paid a monthly sick leave benefit of seventy-five percent (75%) of one day’s salary for each month in which his/her sick leave balance is 960 hours on the first day of the month. If any sick leave is taken during the month, then no bonus will be paid. Any time an employee’s sick leave accumulation drops below the 960 hour cap, sick leave will accumulate as it would regularly.
MAXIMUM SICK LEAVE. Maximum sick leave accrual at year end for full-time employees is four hundred eighty (480) hours or sixty (60) days. Accrual beyond the four hundred eighty (480) hours shall be paid to the employee at year end, or upon termination when employment occurs prior to yearend, at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee’s hourly wage.
MAXIMUM SICK LEAVE. There is no maximum balance of sick leave that may be accrued.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • Sick Leave Usage A. Sick leave may be used for an employee or an employee's child, spouse or parent's illness or injury, hospitalization and appointment pertaining to health.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Sick Leave Bonus For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • Sick Leave During Vacation Where an employee qualifies for sick leave due to illness or injury during the period of vacation time, sick leave shall displace vacation leave. An illness or injury occurring while the employee is on scheduled vacation time shall not be accepted as a claim for sick leave benefits unless recuperation involves hospitalization or confinement to bed by order of a medical practitioner. Written medical verification of such illness or injury and hospitalization or confinement must be provided to the Employer in order for the employee to be eligible for sick leave benefits.

  • Sick Leave Use Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons:
