Long-Term Professional Leave. 1. Non-Academic A leave of absence of up to two (2) years may be granted to any teacher, upon application, for the purpose of participating in exchange teaching programs in other states, territories or countries; foreign or military teaching programs; the Peace Corps, Teacher's Corps or Job Corps as a full-time participant in such program; or a cultural travel or work program related to his/her professional responsibilities.

Long-Term Professional Leave. 1. Faculty members may apply to the Board of Trustees for long-term professional leaves which could mutually benefit the College and person granted such leave. Such leaves will not be granted automatically. Requests for a long-term professional leave shall be presented to the President in considerable detail, outlining the activity proposed, by February 1 for leaves to commence the following academic year.
Long-Term Professional Leave. The School District may grant leave to a teacher for the pursuit of an advanced degree or other educational purpose as agreed to between the teacher and the School District.
Long-Term Professional Leave. Long-term professional leaves will consist of either one (1) full year (July 1 to June 30), or one-half (1/2) year (July 1 to December 31, or January 1 to June 30).

  • Professional Leaves 1. Professional Leaves are to be used by an employee to gain knowledge for the position contracted through Bath Local Schools. The employee must request Professional Leave through the employee kiosk. Upon approval, the employee may be permitted to attend the Professional Meeting and will be paid at the regular rate.

  • Extended Medical Leave A teacher who is unable to teach because of personal illness or disability and who has exhausted all available sick leave shall be granted leave for up to one (1) year. Any request for this leave must state the probable date of return and be accompanied by a verifying physician's statement. If the leave was granted as a result of a work related injury the employee may request and shall be granted a one (1) year extension of this leave. Before returning, such teacher must submit a physician's release. To be eligible for an extended medical leave of absence, an employee must have been actively employed on paid status with APS a minimum of one contract year immediately prior to the leave start date. All intermittent medical leaves will be addressed according to FMLA regulations.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.
