Peace Corps. A regular employee joining the Peace Corps shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay for at least two (2) years. Such employee shall have the right to return to a position in the same class as his/her last held position and at the prevailing salary rate without loss of seniority or other employment rights. Failure of the employee to report within ninety (90) days after termination of his/her service shall be cause for termination.
Peace Corps. Up to one (1) year of service in the Peace Corps will be credited for salary purposes. However, no more than fifteen (15) total years will be allowed for out-of-county experience including military service in the armed forces of the United States and Peace Corps service.
Peace Corps. Leaves of absence without pay of not more than two (2) years to volunteer in the U.S. Peace Corps may be granted by the Board to permanent employees. Extension of this leave may be granted by the Board upon request, but such extension shall not exceed two (2) additional school years.
Peace Corps. Leave of absence may be granted without pay for one (1) year to any employee who enlists in the Peace Corps as a full-time participant. Such employee shall be restored to employment with the District and shall be given the benefit of any increments which would have been credited to him had he remained in active service with the school system, provided, however, that such employee shall make application to return to work within ninety (90) days after discharge from the Peace Corps.
Peace Corps. Peace Corps leave will be granted, without pay or increment. Peace Corps leave is for one (1) year at a time. If a second year is requested, the teacher must renew his leave for the additional year.
Peace Corps. Leave of absence may be granted up to two (2) years to any employee who joins the Peace Corps as a full-time participant in such program. Any period of time so served shall be treated as time worked for purposes of the salary schedule.
Peace Corps. Consistent with the provision of M.G.L. c. 71 § 41B, the Superintendent of Schools shall grant to a teacher who is currently in good standing and who has been accepted to serve in the Peace Corps of the United States, a leave of absence for the term of such service. Such leave shall be without pay and shall not be counted as creditable service for retirement purposes, and shall count as an unpaid leave of absence for purposes of this Agreement; but a teacher who receives such leave shall be restored to her/his previous or a similar position, with the same status, pay, length of service credit and seniority, where applicable, as she/he held on the date of such leave of absence.
Peace Corps. The Board at its discretion may grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee who has been employed continuously for one (1) calendar year by the Board and who joins the Peace Corps as a full-time participant in the program. Such leave shall be granted only for the term of initial enlistment. During such service, seniority shall accumulate. He/she may return to duty with this Board under the same procedure as outlined below in "Veteran's Rights".
Peace Corps. Peace Corps leave shall be granted without pay to any teacher who enlists for a period not to exceed two (2) years. Upon return from such leave, a teacher will be placed on the salary schedule at the level which he would have attained had he remained actively employed in the system during the period of absence. Peace Corps is for one (1) year at a time and the teacher must renew his leave for the second year.
Peace Corps e. Child care. (a maximum of one (1) year's leave may be counted, except that if the teacher was granted one (1) or more year(s) of this leave prior to July 1, 1991, all such prior year(s) shall be eligible. In that event, the teacher shall not be permitted to count as eligible years any leave time for this purpose taken subsequent to July 1, 1991.)
