Illness at work. If an employee begins work but cannot continue because of illness, the balance of the rostered ordinary time will be treated as paid Personal Leave (where an employee’s individual entitlements are sufficient to cover the absence).

Illness at work. When an employee becomes ill while at work and does not feel able to complete the workday, the employee shall report the fact to the immediate supervisor. If illness continues the next day, a normal absence report is required.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK AND REPORTING 17.01 If an employee is unable to report for work, he/she shall give the Employer a minimum of four (4) hours notice. In case of day shift work, this time element shall be one (1) hour. If notice is not given within the required time, the employee shall not be entitled to his/her sick pay on the first day of illness.

The employee must inform the College of the claim within one (1) week of returning to work.

  • Pregnancy Sick Leave Leave for illness of a Nurse arising out of or associated with a Nurse’s pregnancy prior to the commencement of, or the ending of, pregnancy leave granted in accordance with Article 13.00, may be granted sick leave in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement.

  • ABSENCE FROM WORK Subject to the trust deed to the fund of which an employee is a member, the following provisions will apply.

The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Sickness and Accident If the Contractor’s Employees fall sick in the period during which they are engaged on the RLA, the UNDP shall not be responsible for arranging or paying for medical treatment and attention. The UNDP shall not be required to pay for the services of the Contractor’s Employees for any period that the Contractor’s Employees are incapacitated by sickness. If in the opinion of the UNDP, any of the Contractor’s Employees either has been or will be incapacitated by sickness for an unreasonable period or period then, and in that case, it shall be at the discretion of the UNDP to decide if and when the employment of the Contractor’s Employee under the RLA shall be terminated and the Contractor be required to replace him. In this event, the Contractor shall on receipt of instructions from the UNDP comply forthwith and shall substitute for the Employee whose services are so terminated another and satisfactory person and the whole costs of such replacements shall be at the Contractor’s expense.
