Examples of Sickness and Accident in a sentence

  • The parties agree that the Society shall administer Short Term Sickness and Accident Leave, Medium Term Disability, Long Term Disability and occupational disability benefits in accordance with this Agreement, the Society's Plan Document and the Constitution and By-Laws of the Society.

  • In the case of prolonged illness financial assistance may be available to the parish through the Sickness and Accident Fund (refersection 16).

  • Except as otherwise provided in Article II, section C, if an Employee ceases work because of disability, the Employee will be eligible to continue health, life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage while disabled for the greater of (i) the period of eligibility for Sickness and Accident benefits, or (ii) the period as set forth in the schedule in (a) above.

  • An employee who undergoes a prescribed rehabilitative process will be entitled to Sickness and Accident benefits in accordance with the Sickness and Accident plan.

  • Should an employee not receive Sickness and Accident benefits within two (2) weeks from application, the Company will advance the employee 75% of benefits, provided they sign the proper release to reimburse the Company.

  • Any employee who undergoes a prescribed rehabilitative process will be entitled to Sickness and Accident Benefits in accordance with the Sickness and Accident Plan.

  • The Company will pay Sickness and Accident benefits for employees who are undergoing a prescribed rehabilitation process in accordance with the Sickness and Accident Plan.

  • During the time an employee is off of work on the Sickness and Accident Program, they shall have no other employment.

  • Accident and health insurance means contracts that incorporate morbidity risk and provide protection against economic loss resulting from accident, sickness, or medical conditions and as may be specified in the valuation manual.

  • Sickness means an illness or disease diagnosed or treated by a Physician.

  • Credit accident and health insurance means insurance on a debtor to provide

  • major accident means an incident involving loss of life inside or outside the establishment or ten or more injuries inside and/or one or more injuries outside or release of toxic chemical or explosion or fire or spillage of hazardous chemical resulting in ‘on-site’ or ‘off-site’ emergencies or damage to equipment leading to stoppage of process or adverse effect to the environment;

  • Accident means a sudden, unforeseen and involuntary event caused by external, visible and violent means.

  • Catastrophic illness or “injury” means an illness or injury that is expected to incapacitate the employee for an extended period of time, or that incapacitates a member of the employee’s family which incapacity requires the employee to take time off from work for an extended period of time to care for that family member, and taking extended time off work creates a financial hardship for the employee because he or she has exhausted all of his or her sick leave and other paid time off.

  • Serious illness means an accident, injury, illness, disease, or physical or mental condition that: poses imminent danger of death; requires inpatient care in a hospital, hospice, or residential medical facility; or requires continuing in-home care under the direction of a physician or health care provider. Related current definitions are summarized in (f) below.

  • Workplace Harassment means engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct against a worker in a workplace that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome”. Ref: Occupational Health and Safety Act, Sec. 1 (1). The employee rights set out above shall be interpreted within the context of the Ontario Human Rights Code. An employee who believes that she has been harassed, contrary to this provision shall be encouraged by both parties to follow the Employer’s policy on harassment and process. Failing resolution, an employee may follow the process set out in the Complaint, Grievance and Arbitration procedure in Article 8 of the Collective Agreement. The employee shall be encouraged by both parties to exhaust these processes prior to filing a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

  • Covered Accident means an Accident that occurs while coverage is in force and results in a loss for which benefits are payable.

  • Accident/Accidental means an event or incident that occurs which is unforeseen and unexpected which resulted directly in the death or injury of the Person Covered.

  • Disability Effective Date means the date on which termination of employment becomes effective due to Disability.

  • Critical Illness means an illness, sickness or disease or corrective measure as specified in Section 6 of this policy document.

  • COVID-19 Pandemic means the SARS-Cov2 or COVID-19 pandemic, including any resurgence or evolutions or mutations thereof and/or any related or associated outbreaks, epidemics and/or pandemics.

  • Disease means an alteration in the state of the body or of some of its organs, interrupting or disturbing the performance of the functions, and causing or threatening pain and weakness or physical or mental disorder and certified by a Medical Practitioner.

  • Occupational disease means a disease contracted in the course of employment, which by its causes and the characteristics of its manifestation or the condition of the employment results in a hazard which distinguishes the employment in character from employment generally, and the employment creates a risk of contracting the disease in greater degree and in a different manner from the public in general.

  • Health insurance means protection which provides payment of benefits for covered sickness or injury.

  • Pregnancy disability means a pregnancy-related medical condition or miscarriage.

  • Pandemic means any outbreaks, epidemics or pandemics relating to SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19, or any evolutions, variants or mutations thereof, or any other viruses (including influenza), and the governmental and other responses thereto.

  • Disability means total and permanent disability as defined in Section 22(e)(3) of the Code.

  • Mental Sickness means any emotional, behavioral, psychological, personality, adjustment, mood or stress- related abnormality, disorder, disturbance, dysfunction or syndrome; regardless of its cause. It includes, but is not limited to:

  • Communicable disease means an illness caused by an infectious agent or its toxins that occurs through the direct or indirect transmission of the infectious agent or its products from an infected individual or via an animal, vector or the inanimate environment to a susceptible animal or human host.

  • Service-disabled veteran-owned business means a service-disabled veteran-owned business located in the State of Tennessee that satisfies the criteria in Tenn. Code. Ann. § 12-3-1102(8). "Service-disabled veteran" means any person who served honorably in active duty in the armed forces of the United States with at least a twenty percent (20%) disability that is service-connected, i.e., the disability was incurred or aggravated in the line of duty in the active military, naval or air service.
