Effective September 1, 2008. Members hired on or after September 1, 2008 will have their seniority within their discipline determined at the time of hire. Where two (2) or more members have the same date of hire, the tie will be broken in the following order:

The Board recognizes the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation as the exclusive bargaining agent for all full-time and part-time, permanent and temporary employees employed as Speech-Language Pathologists, Psychoeducational Consultants, Psychologists, Psychological Associates, School Social Workers and School Child and Youth Counsellors in the employ of the Halton District School Board in the Regional Municipality of Halton, save and except supervisors, persons above the rank of supervisor and supervising psychologists.
Effective September 1, 2008. 8.1.1.1 It is the School Division’s intent to ensure that schools operate as closely as possible to the required hours of instruction mandated by Alberta Education (nine hundred and fifty [950] hours of instruction per year for elementary and junior high schools; one-thousand [1000] hours per year for senior high schools.) The parties recognize that schools require flexibility to meet their unique organization and program needs.
