Educational Travel Leave Sample Clauses

Educational Travel Leave. A leave-of-absence for the purpose of educational travel, university credit travel-course, or any District approved plan that would enhance the teacher's effectiveness, may be granted to any tenure teacher. The leave shall be for a period of one (1) semester or for one (1) year, and no increment credit will be allowed.

Educational Travel Leave. All full-time teachers who have been employed by the Manchester Community Schools for at least five years may be granted a leave of absence for no more than 15 days for Educational Travel. The benefit to the school District to be determined by the professional council, a joint committee of the School Board and the Association. The amount of pay the teacher will receive will be the difference between the substitute's daily wage and the teacher's daily wage. A teacher who is granted leave for such a trip will be ineligible for two school years for a similar leave. No more than two teachers may be granted leave for this purpose at any one time. A teacher contemplating such leave will make a request in writing to the Superintendent of Schools at least sixty (60) days, if possible, prior to the departure date. In the event that more than two teachers submit Educational Travel Leave requests for identical time periods, the two earliest applicants will be considered for such leave. It is understood that teachers granted leave for the above stated purposes will share their experiences via slides, film or oral presentation with their students, organized groups and their community if called upon to do so.

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Education Leave (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.

  • Extended Medical Leave A teacher who is unable to teach because of personal illness or disability and who has exhausted all available sick leave shall be granted leave for up to one (1) year. Any request for this leave must state the probable date of return and be accompanied by a verifying physician's statement. If the leave was granted as a result of a work related injury the employee may request and shall be granted a one (1) year extension of this leave. Before returning, such teacher must submit a physician's release. To be eligible for an extended medical leave of absence, an employee must have been actively employed on paid status with APS a minimum of one contract year immediately prior to the leave start date. All intermittent medical leaves will be addressed according to FMLA regulations.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Unpaid Educational Leave After one (1) year of continuous employment, permission shall be granted for leave of absence for a maximum of one (1) year without pay for study, without loss of accrued benefits.

  • Medical Care Leave An Employee who is unable to make the necessary arrangements for maintenance of personal health care outside of scheduled work time, shall be granted time off with pay. Such time off shall not exceed sixteen (16) working hours per calendar year. Hours in excess of sixteen (16) hours per calendar year shall be deducted from the Employee's sick leave accumulation.

  • Military Caregiver Leave The employer shall grant an employee who is a family member of a covered service member an unpaid leave of up to twenty-six (26) weeks (inclusive of the twelve (12) weeks granted under 1. above) in a single twelve (12) month period to care for the covered service member who has a serious illness or injury incurred in the line of duty on active duty.
