Application of Prepayments Sample Clauses

The Application of Prepayments clause defines how any advance payments made by a borrower are to be allocated by the lender. Typically, this clause specifies the order in which prepayments are applied, such as first to accrued interest, then to principal, or to specific installments. By clearly outlining the process, the clause ensures transparency and prevents disputes over how extra payments affect the loan balance, ultimately helping both parties manage repayment expectations and obligations.
