Duplicative Coverage. This section applies to married County employees or employees with domestic partners when both are employed by the County. The intent of this Section limits County employees who are married or in a domestic partnership from both covering each other within the same Medical Plan. Married County employees or employees with a domestic partner, (as defined in the appendices) both employed by the County, shall be entitled to one choice from the following list of health plan coverages:

Such County/Department employees, both employed by the County/Department, shall be entitled to one choice from the following list of health plan coverages:
Duplicative Coverage. AHS shall not provide duplicate coverage to married/domestic partnership employees. Share the savings will be a flat $250 per month for opting out of the health plan altogether. Employees will be able to opt out of the Dental Plan as well for $20 per month; again, they would have to opt completely out. Married couples or domestic partners who both work for AHS will not be eligible for either share the savings or double health and/or dental coverage.

For any County employee in a parent-YAD relationship, the YAD employee cannot have duplicate coverage within the same plan as the parent employee. If the parent employee has the YAD employee on a family HMO plan, the YAD employee cannot select individual coverage on the same HMO plan as the parent employee.
