Church Conference Vote. At least two-thirds (2/3) of the professing members present at a church conference of the Local Church must vote to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church “for reasons of conscience regarding a change in the requirements and provisions of the Book of Discipline related to the practice of homosexuality or the ordination or marriage of self-avowed practicing homosexuals as resolved and adopted by the 2019 General Conference, or the actions or inactions of its annual conference related to these issues which follow.” Local Church shall provide documentation, to the satisfaction of Annual Conference, which evidences the result of the disaffiliation vote taken at the church conference. Such documentation must be certified by an authorized officer of Local Church and shall be included as an Exhibit A to this Disaffiliation Agreement.
Church Conference Vote. At least two-thirds (2/3) of the professing members present at a church conference of Local Church must vote to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church for the reasons set forth in Paragraph 2553 of the Book of Discipline. Local Church must provide documentation, to the satisfaction of Annual Conference, which evidences the result of the disaffiliation vote taken at the church conference. Such documentation must be certified by an authorized officer of Local Church.
Church Conference Vote. Local Church must deliver to CNUMC, within ten days after the date of this Agreement, a certificate in substantially the form of Exhibit B to this Agreement that is (i) signed and certified by an authorized officer of Local Church to be accurate and complete, and (ii) evidences that at least two-thirds of the professing members present at a church conference of Local Church voted to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church “for reasons of conscience regarding a change in the requirements and provisions of the Book of Discipline related to the practice of homosexuality or the marriage of self-avowed practicing homosexuals as resolved and adopted by the 2019 General Conference, or the actions or inactions of its annual conference related to these issues which follow.” Upon receipt, CNUMC may attach the signed certificate of the authorized officer of Local Church to this Agreement as Exhibit B in substitution of the unsigned form that is attached to this Agreement.
Church Conference Vote. Only professing members of the Local Church on the membership roll provided by the Local Church in advance to the District Superintendent (as described in paragraph 1(b) above) shall be allowed to vote. Professing members must be present at the conference of the Local Church in order to be allowed to vote; no proxy voting shall be allowed; and professing members are only allowed one vote each and cannot vote for any family or other professing member. All voting shall be secret written ballot, and a bar shall be established between those eligible to vote and those ineligible to vote, or not voting. No voter shall be allowed to
Church Conference Vote. At least two-thirds (2/3) of the professing members present at a church conference of Local Church have voted to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church “for reasons of conscience regarding a change in the requirements and provisions of the Book of Discipline related to the practice of homosexuality or the ordination or marriage of self-avowed practicing homosexuals as resolved and adopted by the 2019 General Conference, or the actions or inactions of its annual conference related to these issues which follow” and to transfer all real and personal property owned by the Local Church to Newco (as hereinafter defined). Local Church has provided documentation, to the satisfaction of the UNY Conference, which evidences the result of the disaffiliation vote taken at the church conference. Such documentation is certified by an authorized officer of Local Church and is attached as Exhibit A to this Agreement.
Church Conference Vote. If the church council of the Local Church determines that it is in the best interest of the church to allow the congregation to pursue separation under the terms of this Agreement, the council shall request that the district superintendent call a church conference for this purpose. Prior to the date of the church conference, the church council must designate a period of at least 30 days of prayer and reflection for the congregation, which will include at least one informational meeting open to all members of the church. Prior to the date of the Church Conference the Annual Conference Trustees shall notify the Local Church of the payment amounts required under Par 4(a). At least two-thirds (2/3) of the professing members present and voting at a church conference of the Local Church must vote that they can no longer carry forth the mission of the church as a United Methodist Church, and must vote to authorize any two trustees of the Local Church to enter into this Agreement on their behalf and to carry out any actions or complete any legal documents necessary to carry out the terms of this Agreement to Separate under ¶ 2549. The Local Church must provide documentation, on a form provided by the South Carolina Conference, which evidences the result of the vote taken at the church conference. Such documentation must be certified by the District Superintendent or their designee and an authorized officer of the Local Church and shall be included as an exhibit to this Agreement.
