Work Week and Work Days. A. The number of hours in an employee's work week may vary during the work year depending on the assignment or position. An employee's hours may be increased or decreased during the work year with or without a change in assignment or position; provided the number of hours assigned to an employee for any work year will not be reduced after October 15. Effective September 2012, employees will be provided with a written or email statement prior to the first day of school with the following information: assigned grade level(s), subject(s) or other assignment for the start of the school year, assigned school(s), salary schedule placement (step and lane), salary, and extra compensation where applicable and known. The Superintendent or his/her designee will endeavor to provide a paraprofessional with seven (7) calendar days’ notice when such paraprofessional’s hours will be changed during the work year.

Employees will be provided with a written or email statement prior to last day of the previous school year with the following information: assigned grade level(s), subject(s) or other assignment for the start of the school year, assigned school(s), salary schedule placement (step and lane), salary, and extra compensation where applicable and known. The Superintendent or his/her designee will endeavor to provide a paraprofessional with seven (7) calendar days’ notice when such paraprofessional’s hours will be changed during the work year. Should an employee’s work hours change in excess of one and a half (1.5) hours per day within the school year (i.e. start time moved or end time moved in excess of one and a half hours) the employee may submit a request to have their assignment or position changed. The District will endeavor to accommodate such requests and may do so on a temporary basis (i.e. for the duration of a sport season) or for the duration of the school year. The District will have sole discretion to grant or deny the request and will have sole discretion of the subsequent placement(s). The District’s actions in granting or denying the request and subsequent placement(s) shall be grievable, but not arbitrable. The grievance at Step 2 with regard to this paragraph only shall be sent to, and responded by, the Director of Human Resources.   • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Work Day and Work Week (A) The normal hours of work for all full-time employees shall be thirty-five (35) hours per week, or seventy (70) hours per two consecutive weeks. All employees are entitled to thirty-two (32) consecutive hours free from work each week, unless overtime rates are paid, as per Article 29.02.

  • Work Day/Work Week 1. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days Monday through Friday of no more than eight (8) hours per day and no more than forty (40) hours per work week. This shall not restrict the extension of the employee’s usual and customary workday or workweek when such is necessary to carry on the business of the School District. Employees who actually work more than forty (40) hours per week will receive overtime pay (time-and-a-half).

  • Weekend Work (a) Overtime work on Saturday shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half (1.5) for the first two (2) hours and double time thereafter, provided that all overtime worked after 12 noon on Saturday shall be paid for at the rate of double time.

  • Workweek and Workday 1. The normal week shall consist of not more than five (5) consecutive days and not more than forty (40) hours per week, Sunday through Saturday. The regular workday shall consist of not more than eight (8) hours per day. Nothing in this Article shall be deemed to restrict the extension of the regular workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District.
