Step 2. The Union Representative or Representatives may take the matter up with the Employer official designated by the Employer to handle Labour Relations matters. If the matter is not taken up within ten (10) calendar days of the date the Union received the written reply to the grievance in Step 1, it shall be deemed to have been abandoned and further recourse to the Grievance Procedure shall be forfeited.

Step 2. A grievance that is not resolved at Step 1 may, at the grievor's request, be submitted to the Director, Employee/Labour Relations, or their specified designate, within 10 business days after the expiry of the response time under Step 1. Upon receipt of the grievance, the Director, Employee/Labour Relations, or their designate, will meet with the Union Representative and/or Xxxxxxx who signed the grievance, or their specified designate, and the grievor within 10 business days after the date on which the Director received the grievance. At the Union's discretion, a United Steelworkers staff representative may also attend the Step 2 grievance meeting. The Director will provide the Union and the grievor with a written response within 10 business days after the Step 2 grievance meeting.
Step 2. If the grievance is not resolved in Step 1, the grievant shall have fifteen (15) working days to present the grievance in writing to the Department Head/designee after the grievant receives an answer in Step 1. Within fifteen (15) working days of receipt of the grievance, the Department Head/designee shall hold a meeting to resolve such grievance. The Department Head/designee shall render a decision within fifteen (15) working days after the conclusion of the meeting. A written copy of the decision including all relevant information on which the decision was based shall be sent to the grievant and Union representative.
Step 2. If the grievance has not been settled, it must be presented in writing by the Association representative or grievant to the division director of the Health and Human Services Department or designee within ten (10) working days after the immediate supervisor's response is due. The division director of the Health and Human Services Department or designee shall meet with the grievant and the Association representative within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the grievance, and together they shall attempt to resolve the matter. The division director or designee shall respond to the Association representative, in writing, within ten (10) working days following the meeting.
Step 2. If the grievance has not been satisfactorily resolved in Step 1, the aggrieved employee and/or the Association may appeal the grievance by submitting a copy of the grievance on the grievance form contained in Appendix "B" to the appropriate Department Director within ten (10) calendar days after the Division Director's response is received or is due. The Department Director shall respond in writing to the employee with a copy to the Association within ten (10) calendar days.
Step 2. If a Grievance is not resolved in Step 1, the aggrieved party may appeal the issue to the Human Resources Manager in writing within seven (7) calendar days from receipt of the Company’s answer at Step 1 or expiration of the time period for such response, unless the time is extended by mutual agreement of the parties. Grievances involving issues related to company policies, practices, procedures or other similar issues may be initiated at Step 2 by submitting them in writing to the Human Resources Manager. Upon receipt of the written Grievance, which should set forth the facts underlying the dispute, the specific contract provisions allegedly being violated and the resolution sought, the Company will have ten (10) calendar days within which to respond.
Step 2. If, after informal discussions with the immediate Supervisor, the problem has not been resolved, the grievant and/or PBA may elect to file a grievance with the Chief of Police, by completing the attached Grievance Form, signed by the grievant and/or a PBA representative, stating the specific Article, Section, and language of this Agreement that is alleged to have been violated, misinterpreted, or misapplied. The properly completed and signed Grievance Form must be submitted to the Chief of Police within ten (10) working days of the date on which informal discussions took place with the immediate supervisor. The Chief of Police will have ten (10) working days of receipt of the Grievance Form to reconsider or notify the Grievant and the PBA of the decision STEP 3: If the grievance has not been satisfactorily resolved at Step Two, using the Grievance Form, the employee and/or PBA may appeal the grievance to the Director of Labor Relations within ten (10) working days after the Chief of Police's response is due. Using the Grievance Form, the Director of Labor Relations shall respond within ten (10) working days to the grievant and PBA.
