The Right to Safety and Health Training. 1. All Employees will be provided with periodic safety and health training. In addition, before the initial assignment to a particular job, Employees will receive training on the nature of the operation or process; the hazards of the job; controls in place; safe working procedures and the reasons for them; the purpose, use and limitations of the required personal protective equipment; and other controls or precautions associated with the job. The training shall be a minimum of sixteen (16) hours, site specific, over and above any State or Federal required training for Employees transferring to another division within a plant or to another plant within the Company. All new hires shall have a minimum of forty (40) hours of safety training.

The Company will make a reasonable effort to use Employees chosen by the Union Co-Chair of the Joint Safety Committee as trainers and will instruct trainers in effective teaching techniques. Upon request, the Union’s Health, Safety and Environment Department (Union Safety Department) will be provided with a copy of all training materials and be afforded the opportunity to review the training.

Bidder further certifies that if they are the awarded Contractor, and the material, equipment, etc., delivered is subsequently found to be deficient in any OSHA requirements in effect on date of delivery, all costs necessary to bring the material, equipment, etc., into compliance with the aforementioned requirements shall be borne by the Contractor.
