Sick Leave Bank of Days. In addition to the above-mentioned sick and personal leave days, the employer hereby establishes the following: A Bank of two hundred twenty-five (225) days for personal illness excluding pregnancy for the use by all employees who have at least one year unit seniority. Said Bank of Days shall be for the use of employees who, after having first used all of their annual and accumulated sick leave, and vacation days, may apply to the Director of Human Resources for additional days leave with pay, at the beginning pay rate for his/her classification to be deducted from the Bank of Days, in cases of serious personal illness, major surgery, or serious accident. The employee must make application to the Director of Human Resources to qualify for the receipt of said Bank of Days. It shall be the responsibility of the Director of Human Resources to notify the employee within forty-eight (48) hours as to whether his/her request is granted or denied. The Director of Human Resources shall not unreasonably withhold the granting of Sick Leave Bank of Days. The criteria for granting, to the employee, days from the Sick Bank are attached hereto as Appendix B. The Bank of two hundred twenty-five (225) sick days shall be for a period of one (1) year and shall become effective upon ratification of this Agreement. At the beginning of each year, the administration shall re-credit to the Bank a sufficient number of days to bring the Bank to two hundred twenty-five (225) days total.

  • Sick Leave Bank 22.1 The purpose of this Sick Leave Bank is to provide a bank of sick leave hours from which a member may draw in case of extended absences due to illness/disability which renders the member incapable of working.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy.   • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Xxxx Leave Bank Section 1: A Sick Leave Bank will be established to relieve a Teacher from undue financial burdens as a result of an absence from work due to the Teacher’s illness, injury, or incapacitation sufficiently severe to make the performance of their duties impossible. Sick Leave Bank leave shall not be used for parenting leave. A Teacher member of the Sick Leave Bank who has exhausted his or her personal leave and sick leave days shall be eligible to apply to the committee for an extension of sick leave benefits. Sick bank days shall not be granted beyond the period when a Teacher would or could be eligible to receive benefits of the School Corporation’s long- term disability program. Unused days in the Sick Leave Bank shall be carried forward to the following year.

  • SICK LEAVE AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE Section 1. a. Employees shall be eligible to use paid sick leave after 30 calendar days of service with the Employer.
