Shop Stewards. The Employer and the Union recognize that it is in the best interests of the Employer and the bargaining unit members to provide trained individuals to assist the members in resolving problems in the workplace. It is therefore agreed that the following procedures shall be followed in order to provide assistance to the members. The Union shall provide a listing of no more than three (3) official Union Stewards per addendum to the Human Resources Director. In the case of bargaining units with shift work, the Union will have no more than three (3) Union stewards on each shift. Shop Stewards. The Union shall have the right to designate one shop xxxxxxx for each store. The Employer will be informed of the names of the stewards. Permission for a Union Xxxxxxx to leave his work station for a reasonable period of time for Union business shall be obtained from the Store Manager or his designate. ARTICLE GRIEVANCES Either the Employer, the Union or any employee has a right to lodge a grievance with respect to any matter arising out of this Agreement or concerning the interpretation, application or alleged violation of this Agreement. Any employee believing that he has been unjustly dealt with or that the provisions of this Agreement have not been complied with, shall have the right to place such grievances in the hands of the Union for review and adjustment by the Employer, if necessary. Such grievance shall be presented indicating the provision of the Collective Agreement which has been allegedly violated and shall be processed as follows: STEP ONE Within ten working days after the event giving rise to the grievance occurs, the employee and his store xxxxxxx shall discuss the grievance with the Store Manager. Shop Stewards. The Employer Local will be entitled to elect or appoint six (6) stewards for each store, and one xxxxxxx and one alternate xxxxxxx for the warehouse, transport and sausage room. Shop Stewards. It is recognized by the Employer that Shop Stewards are desirable for the proper administration of the terms of this Agreement. The Employer and the Union recognize also recognizes that it is desirable that the person designated as Steward shall receive his fair share of the woxx xxxx he is qualified to perform. In no event shall the Employer discriminate against a Steward in the best interests matter of overtime, layoffs, or xxxxxxs or discharge him on account of the proper performance of his duties. Shop Stewards.
