Selection of Coaches. Associations are responsible to select qualified coaches for their program. Each Association shall establish their own criteria to determine qualifications of coaches, such as coaching experience, past playing experience, etc.

Step 1 Positions shall be advertised to all District certified employees by the school’s Athletic Director on the District’s electronic mail system and left open for ten working days. The advertisement will be placed in mailboxes at the school where the vacancy exists, and all electronic postings will be printed and posted outside the campus Athletic Director’s office. Applications will be accepted only from this group of candidates and only if the employee has rights to continued employment in the District. If candidates are considered equally qualified, preference will be given to the on-campus faculty member.

All in-district candidates shall be interviewed and considered first. The interview committee for all interviews shall consist of the Principal and or Unit Athletic Director, and a representative from the CTA and a representative of CEA if there are applicants who are certificated employees. The same interview committee, questions, and scoring system must be used for all interviews. In-district applicants may grieve the interview process per the general grievance procedures in the Professional Agreement. No hiring selection will be made until any such grievance of the interview process has been resolved. Applications will be accepted only from this group of candidates and only if the employee has rights to continued employment in the District. If candidates are considered equally qualified, preference will be given to the on-campus faculty member.
Selection of Coaches. The district will solicit interest in coaching positions from all established coaches in the building. The available positions will be based on seniority. Payment of Coaches Intramural Volleyball coaches will be paid the median amount between the MS Assistant Coach stipend and the MS Intramural stipend. A regular MS sports season is considered 28 days. For this season, coaches will be paid a prorated stipend based on the 12-day season. The stipend will be paid in one lump sum payment in the month of February. Step Placement
