Professional Training, Workshops, Conferences and Seminars. In coordination with and upon the approval of the department supervisor, a bargaining unit employee may determine the most appropriate professional development opportunities to enhance existing skills, learn new ones as applicable to job duties performed for positions at UC Hastings, and to maintain certifications as required by law or as a condition of employment. Development opportunities in this category are paid by UC Hastings and would be considered paid work time for the employee. Approval to attend these conferences and seminars will be made on a case-by-case basis. Professional Training, Workshops, Conferences and Seminars will be made available to employees in an equal fashion. Requests for such training shall be determined on a case-by-case basis, but shall not be unreasonably denied. If such training is approved, UC Hastings shall cover the costs of travel, registration, and materials. UC Hastings shall also provide appropriate release time to attend training.

  • Trainings iv. Appointment of any length involving two (2) or more Consumers who might need to split up to join different trainings, group discussions, etc.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Training a. The employer, in consultation with the local, shall be responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing harassment and sexual harassment awareness program for all employees. Where a program currently exists and meets the criteria listed in this agreement, such a program shall be deemed to satisfy the provisions of this article. This awareness program shall initially be for all employees and shall be scheduled at least once annually for all new employees to attend.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task). Nothing in this Article or provision shall constitute a waiver of either party’s bargaining obligations or defenses. The Employer still has an obligation to notify and bargain changes in terms and conditions of employment with the exclusive representative.

  • Seminars All Residency Candidates must attend any seminars scheduled during the semester. The seminars are designed to prepare the candidate for his/her Teacher Performance Assessment (edTPA) that is completed during Residency II. Failure to attend the Residency seminars will affect the candidate’s performance on the Teacher Performance Assessment and will affect the Teacher Candidate’s overall grade for the Clinical Residency Experience. This could also impact their ability to obtain licensure.

  • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved.

  • Liaisons Each party shall designate a representative to serve as its liaison in all matters arising under this Agreement, and shall furnish in writing the name of each representative to the other party.

  • Pre-Job Conferences a) The Employer will notify the Union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference will be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in this Agreement. This conference may be conducted via telephone, through a scheduled meeting or by some other practical means as agreed to by the parties.
