Proper authorization for membership payroll deductions shall be the signature of the employee on an authorization form prepared by the Association and submitted to the Superintendent or his/her designee. Such authorization shall remain effective according to its terms. If silent, such authorization shall be cancelable upon written notice.

Such authorization shall be renewed prior to September 1st of each school year, to be effective for such year.

The amount of dues to be deducted shall be annually certified by the Association and its affiliates and submitted in writing to the Superintendent or designee no later than November 1st. Such deductions shall be made beginning with the second pay period after the list is submitted and throughout the final pay period for the work year.
Procedures for Membership Authorization. Any teacher who is a member of the Association or who has applied for membership may sign and deliver to the District Office an assignment authorizing deduction of membership dues in the Association, the NEA and the IEA. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless revoked in writing at any time by a teacher. Pursuant to such authorization, the District Office shall deduct 1/22nd of such dues from the salary check of the teacher for 22 pay periods with the first deduction in September and ending in June of each school year. Deductions for teachers employed after the commencement of the school year shall be so pro-rated as to complete payments by the following June.
