Long-Term Parental Leave Without Pay a. A teacher may elect to go on Long-Term Parental Leave Without Pay at the time he/she withdraws from active service following the birth of a child or in circumstances where there are serious health problems of a bargaining unit member’s child. This leave would be for the duration of that current school year, or for one (1) school year if the withdrawal from active service is during the summer break, and after use of Sick Leave and/or FMLA, if so chosen. Upon written request by March 15, Long- Term Parental Leave may be extended for one (1) additional school year.
