Lateral Hire Pay. When the City hires new plumbers or electricians, who were City employees, or who were previously employed as plumbers or electricians with another employer, the newly hired plumber or electricians will move to the step rate of pay that is closest to, but higher than, their current rate of pay. If the external is paid higher than our current pay rate, they will be moved to the top step of the pay band. The employee will progress through the contractual wage steps in accordance with the time frames dictated in the wage addenda. This language will not apply to any City employee hired prior to November 1, 2023.

Lateral Hire Pay. At the sole discretion of the City, certain firefighters with prior full-time firefighting and EMT experience considered for hire may be entitled to increased wages pursuant to this Article. At the City’s sole discretion, the lateral entry firefighter may be eligible for a higher wage commensurate with the firefighter’s prior full-time experience, not to exceed the current wage schedule. No other contractual benefits or privileges are extended to recognize prior service without agreement between the City and Association.   • Overtime-Eligible Employees Employees who are covered by the overtime provisions of state and federal law.

  • Shift Pay Each full-time employee scheduled to work on any shift commencing after 9:00 a.m. shall be paid a shift premium of seventy- five cents ($0.75) per hour for all hours worked by him/her on that shift and overtime hours worked in continuity with such shift. Shift premiums payable under this provision shall not be included as part of the employee’s regular pay for purposes of computing overtime pay.

  • Longevity Pay If an employee leaves State Classified employment and later is rehired, he/she shall receive no longevity pay. However, once such a rehired employee has been in pay status for five (5) years, all previous service time shall be credited for longevity pay. The only exception shall be for employees rehired who repay severance pay received. (See Article 22, Section Q.)

  • Show-up Pay (a) Except as otherwise required by State law, Employees reporting for work and for whom no work is provided, except when given prior notification not to report to work, shall receive two (2) hours pay at the regular straight time hourly rate. Employees who are directed to start work shall receive four (4) hours of pay at the regular straight time hourly rate. Employees who work beyond four (4) hours shall be paid for actual hours worked. Whenever reporting pay is provided for employees, they will be required to remain at the Project Site and available for work for such time as they receive pay, unless released earlier by the principal supervisor of the Contractor(s) or his/her designated representative. Each employee shall furnish his/her Contractor with his/her current address and telephone number and shall promptly report any changes to the Contractor.
