Labour Conferences and Conventions and Union Training. 23.20 Subject to operational requirements, the Employer shall grant a leave of absence without pay to up to five (5) Employees at one time, and a maximum of ten (10) Employees per Academic Year, who may be elected or selected by the Union to attend labour conferences or conventions not to exceed one week in length. At least two (2) weeks’ written notice must be provided to the Employment Supervisor with a copy to Faculty Relations.

  • Attendance at Conferences and Conventions (a) The parties to this Agreement recognize that attendance or participation at conferences, conventions, symposia, workshops and other gatherings of a similar nature contributes to the maintenance of high professional standards.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. Requests for attendance are submitted through the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor, and forwarded to the President/Superintendent for approval at his/her sole discretion.
