Jury Service, Crown Witness and Tribunal. An employee who is required to attend a court or tribunal for the purpose of jury service, as a Crown witness, as a witness on behalf of a Union or to give evidence directly related to their employment shall be entitled to leave on full pay for the duration of such attendance. The employee shall surrender to the University any fees or monies received in the way of payment for these services, provided that an employee may claim from the fees any increase in costs associated with such attendance, for example any additional travel, before surrendering such fees to the University. Where an employee is on approved annual leave or long service leave, no deduction shall be made from their leave credits for the duration of their jury service or witness attendance. Unpaid leave shall be granted for appearances that are required in a court or tribunal in another capacity.
