Holidays within Vacation Period. When an authorized holiday falls within an employee's vacation period, an additional day of vacation shall be granted and may, unless acute service demands prohibit, be taken at any time within the vacation year provided that the additional day is selected not later than Tuesday noon preceding the posting of the schedule for the week in which the holiday is to be taken.
Holidays within Vacation Period. When a holiday falls during the scheduled vacation of any bargaining unit employee, such holiday shall not be charged against vacation time.

  • Vacation Period ‌ The choice of vacation periods shall be granted to employees on the basis of seniority with the Employer except where the period requested would be detrimental to the operation of the Employer.

  • Unbroken Vacation Period An Employee shall receive an unbroken period of vacation unless mutually agreed upon between the Employee and the Employer.

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • Annual Vacation Leave 30.01 An Employee shall not take vacation leave without prior authorization from the Employer.

  • Compensation for Holidays Worked a. With the exception of the provisions in Section C.2.b., below, an employee required to work on a holiday listed above shall be paid at the employee's regular straight-time rate of pay for the hours actually worked. In addition, an eligible employee shall receive either compensatory time off or holiday pay at the option of the University at the regular straight-time rate, including any shift differential.
