Family Caregiver Leave. The following clause is applicable to all employees covered by this Collective Agreement.
Family Caregiver Leave. A request for Family Caregiver Leave will be granted in accordance with the ESA for up to eight (8) weeks within a twenty-six (26) week period. An Employee who is on Family Caregiver Leave shall continue to accumulate seniority and service and both the Employer and Employee will continue to pay their respective shares of the benefit and pension premiums in which the Employee is participating during the leave.
Family Caregiver Leave. An employee who is entitled to the Family Caregiver benefit under the Employment Insurance Act is entitled to a leave of absence without pay of up to 15 weeks for the purpose of providing care or support to an adult family member who is critically ill or injured. There will be no interruption in the accrual of seniority or vacation provided for under Article 21.6. Employer paid premiums for benefits will continue for eight weeks at which time the employee may opt to continue benefits provided they pay the full premium costs.
