Family Medical Leave or Critically Ill Child Care leaves granted to an employee under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, as amended.
A Critically Ill Child Care Leave of absence will be granted in accordance with the eligibility provisions as per the Employment Standards Act of Ontario.

Critically ill child means a child who has a life-threatening illness or injury that can include various acute phases of illness and for which continued parental care and support is required and for whom the Employee would be eligible for Leave for Parents with Critically Ill Children benefit under Employment Insurance legislation.
Caregiver Leave, Family Medical Leave, Critically Ill Childcare Leave, Crime-related Child Death or Disappearance Leave, and any other leaves as may be prescribed by legislation, shall be granted as per the Employment Standards Act.
