Departments/Programs. The following departments in the Mathematics, Science and Health Career Division will have department chairpersons: Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Academic Skills Math. The following programs will have program coordinators: Dietetic Technology, Dental Programs (director), Dental Hygiene (clinic supervisor), HPER and Wellness, and Health Information Technology. The following departments in the Business, Computer and Technical Studies Division will have department chairpersons: Physics. The following programs will have program coordinators: Business Programs, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Systems Technology, Web Design, Engineering, Photonics/Laser Technology, Office Systems Technology and CAD. The following departments in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Division will have department chairpersons: English, ESL, History/Political Science/Philosophy, Languages, Psychology, Sociology, and Academic Skills Reading/Writing. The following programs will have program coordinators: Criminal Justice, Human Services, Interpreter Education, Elementary/Secondary Education and Liberal Arts. Nothing herein is intended to constrain the College’s ability to re-organize the academic divisions, departments and programs or to specify the minimum or maximum number of department chairs or coordinators. The College will provide the Association with reasonable advance notification of such changes.

  • Departments Each teaching member shall belong to one home department. Departments of a university shall be established by the University administration with the advice of the Senate according to criteria of commonality of interest and academic purpose, without any numerical limits on size. Divisions or other major groupings of departments with some common interest may also be formed.

  • Personnel Policies The School shall adopt, update, and adhere to personnel policies. These policies must be made readily accessible from the School’s website or school office, as described in Section 11.4.1. If the policy is not available from the School’s website, the School shall submit the current policy to the Commission.

  • Department Seniority Department seniority is defined as continuous length of service in calendar days within the employee’s department and where applicable, shall be used for internal department processes, such as vacation and schedule bids.

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task). Nothing in this Article or provision shall constitute a waiver of either party’s bargaining obligations or defenses.   • Health Promotion and Health Education Both parties to this Agreement recognize the value and importance of health promotion and health education programs.   • Department Responsibilities The use of sick leave may properly be denied if these procedures are not followed. Abuse of sick leave on the part of the employee is cause for disciplinary action. Departmental approval of sick leave is a certification of the legitimacy of the sick leave claim. The department head or designee may make reasonable inquiries about employee absences. The department may require medical verification for an absence of three (3) or more working days. The department may also require medical verification for absences of less than three (3) working days for probable cause if the employee had been notified in advance in writing that such verification was necessary.
