Departments and Programs. 18.01 a) Unless otherwise specified, the members of a department include the employees, Part-time Employees appointed to that department who hold part-time continuing appointments, and other Part-time Employees who are teaching courses in that department.

Departments and Programs. Organizational units of academic employees established by management.
Departments and Programs will give priority to GE appointments. All graduate students employed by the University at .2 FTE or above for research, teaching (e.g., grading, lab assistant, discussion leader), or administrative duties will be awarded a Graduate Employee appointment, except in emergency situations that cannot be accommodated by an increase in the FTE of current GEs and/or the creation of new GE position. This section also applies to the hiring of undergraduate students or other non-salaried hourly workers to positions appropriate for GEs. Nothing in this article is intended to limit appropriate educational opportunities for Undergraduates.

  • Departments Each teaching member shall belong to one home department. Departments of a university shall be established by the University administration with the advice of the Senate according to criteria of commonality of interest and academic purpose, without any numerical limits on size. Divisions or other major groupings of departments with some common interest may also be formed.

  • SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND PROGRAMS The Contractor shall be responsible for initiating, maintaining and supervising all safety precautions and programs in connection with the Work.

  • Personnel Policies The School shall adopt, update, and adhere to personnel policies. These policies must be made readily accessible from the School’s website or school office, as described in Section 11.4.1. If the policy is not available from the School’s website, the School shall submit the current policy to the Commission.

  • Interstate Educational Personnel Contracts 1. The designated state official of a party state may make 1 or more contracts on behalf of his state with 1 or more other party states providing for the acceptance of educational personnel. Any such contract for the period of its duration shall be applicable to and binding on the states whose designated state officials enter into it, and the subdivisions of those states, with the same force and effect as if incorporated in this agreement. A designated state official may enter into a contract pursuant to this article only with states in which he finds that there are programs of education, certification standards or other acceptable qualifications that assure preparation or qualification of educational personnel on a basis sufficiently comparable, even though not identical to that prevailing in his own state.

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task). Nothing in this Article or provision shall constitute a waiver of either party’s bargaining obligations or defenses. The Employer still has an obligation to notify and bargain changes in terms and conditions of employment with the exclusive representative.
