Compensation for Standby Clause Samples

The Compensation for Standby clause establishes the terms under which a party is paid for being available to perform work, even if their services are not actively utilized during a specified period. Typically, this clause applies in situations where personnel or equipment must be ready to mobilize on short notice, such as in construction or event management, and outlines the rate or method of compensation for this standby time. Its core function is to ensure that parties are fairly compensated for reserving their time and resources, thereby addressing the risk of lost opportunities or costs incurred while waiting to be called into active service.
Compensation for Standby. When designated by the Employing Authority to standby, an employee shall receive standby pay of $22.00 for each period of eight (8) hours or less. If the standby period or a portion of it occurs on a statutory holiday, the standby allowance paid shall be $23.00 for each period of eight (8) hours or less.
Compensation for Standby. Effective date of signing and subject to Clause 22.02, an employee required to perform standby shall be compensated as follows: (a) An employee required to perform standby duty shall be paid twenty dollars and forty cents ($20.40) for each eight (8) hour shift of standby. (b) When a standby is required on statutory holiday, the rate of compensation shall be twenty two dollars and sixty cents ($22.60)for each eight (8) hour shift of standby. (c) An employee required to perform standby duty shall be paid thirty dollars and sixty cents ($30.60) for each twelve (12) hour shift of standby. (d) When standby is required on a statutory holiday, the rate of compensation shall be thirty-three dollars and ninety cents ($33.90) for each twelve (12) hour shift of standby.
Compensation for Standby. An employee required by the department head to be on stand-by duty shall receive one-quarter of his/her/their hourly pay, or the federal minimum wage, whichever is higher for the hours required to be on stand-by. Employees on stand-by duty, who are called back to work, shall not receive stand-by pay while in a called-back status.
Compensation for Standby a) Unit employees will be compensated a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of straight pay for every seven (7) days assigned to standby. b) Unit employees are permitted to bank fifteen (15) hours of standby pay per each standby period. c) For each recognized City holiday (excluding Floating Holidays) that occurs within the seven (7) day standby period, the unit employee will be compensated an additional four (4) hours per holiday. For half-day holidays, the unit employee will be compensated an additional two (2) hours.
Compensation for Standby. All covered employees placed on standby shall receive one hour’s pay at straight time for each eight (8) hours of standby time, with a minimum of three (3) hours of pay when placed on standby.
Compensation for Standby. Effective April 1, 2008 and subject to Clause 22.02, an employee required to perform standby shall be compensated as follows: (a) An employee required to perform standby duty shall be paid ten dollars ($10.00) for each eight (8) hour shift of standby. (b) When a standby is required on statutory holiday, the rate of compensation shall be twelve dollars and twenty cents ($12.20) for each eight (8) hour shift of standby.

  • Compensation for Overtime Assigned overtime is designated as those hours over the regular hours of work which are requested of the employee by management. Assigned overtime worked shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2).
