Call-in/Court Time. An employee who is called in for unscheduled work, is contacted on off-duty time and spends a substantial amount of time handling an issue without coming on station, or is scheduled to appear in court outside his/her scheduled shift shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours work unless it is immediately contiguous to the officers regularly scheduled shift. Once an officer completes his or her duties the officer may be permitted to leave the premises and receive his/her four (4) hours of overtime subject to supervisory approval. In situations where an officer testifies by telephone outside his/her scheduled shift rather than appearing in person, s/he shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours pay.

Call-in/Court Time. When approved by the Sheriff, or his designee, employees called 2 in to work or appearing in court on behalf of the Employer for a period of less than three (3) 3 hours, when the employee is not on duty, shall be compensated not less than three (3) hours 4 overtime-time pay. 6 An employee who is required to appear at court at the same time as the commencement of the 7 assigned shift shall be paid one (1) hour of overtime based on the payment selection made in 8 Article 21 for preparation and reporting early to the Sheriff’s Office. 10 Employees shall not be eligible for call-in/court time for hours the employee is receiving 11 overtime compensation, any time the employee is performing duties on a grant, or when working 12 under a contract for services under the authority of the Employer. When performing duties on a 13 grant the employee shall only receive the actual time on call-in/court time that is not eligible 14 under the grant for payment.

Once a lieutenant completes his or her duties the lieutenant may be permitted to leave the premises and receive his/her four (4) hours of overtime subject to supervisory approval.

Call-in/Court Time. An Employee prescheduled for overtime or called in or scheduled for court outside the employee’s regularly scheduled shift, which time does not abut the employee’s regularly scheduled shift, shall be paid for all time actually worked, but in no event will the amount be less than three (3) hours’ pay at the appropriate rate of pay. Bargaining unit members shall be permitted to use a lot cruiser, if available, for travel to court hearings and training. Any employee called in to rectify the employee’s own error shall be credited with the actual time worked at the employee’s regular rate of pay and not with the minimum premium herein stated.
