Bi-lingual Premium Pay. Employees not receiving assignment/specialty pay will receive bi-lingual pay of 3% after successful completion of their training period, if they demonstrate proficient use of sign language or fluently speak one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Ukrainian, Arabic, Farsi, Vietnamese, Laotian, or any other language as approved by the Chief of Police.

Bi-lingual Premium Pay. A premium payment of one hundred and forty ($140) dollars will be provided to employees who are fluent in Spanish (or a Spanish dialect derivative). Fluency will be determined through an oral interview of the employee by another fluent employee chosen by the Sheriff. Premium pay shall be paid out one half (1/2) per pay period and will be pro-rated in the event of separation of employment.
Bi-lingual Premium Pay. The City recognizes the benefit of bilingual skills. Employees not receiving assignment/specialty pay will receive bi-lingual pay of 3% after successful completion of their Field Training period, if they demonstrate proficient use of sign language or fluently speak one or more of the following languages: Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Ukrainian, Arabic, Farsi, Vietnamese, Laotian, or any other language as approved by the Chief of Police. Employees who are receiving assignment/specialty pay and who are eligible for bi-lingual pay will receive 2% in addition to their other assignment/specialty pay(s). For example, a bi-lingual Special Operations Sergeant who is a DRE will receive 3% SOS premium plus 1% for being a DRE, plus an additional 2% for bi-lingual pay, for a total of 6%. The specialty language testing provider will be Language Line Solutions at the Language Line Academy or such other method as agreed to by both parties. Bilingual pay for employees who test at a Level 2: Low Intermediate Level for Language Line Academy or a similar level in a different program can qualify for this incentive. Level 2: Low Intermediate consists of minimal to sufficient level of fluency, communicating at an informal level, conversing about familiar topics and demonstrating good pronunciation.

  • Bilingual Premium The appointing authority may require a qualified employee to perform bilingual duties in positions which have been identified and designated as requiring such bilingual skills. In order to ensure an adequate level of bilingual proficiency, the Director, Department of Human Resources may require periodic evaluation of incumbents receiving bilingual premium.

  • Overtime Premium Pay Time and one-half (1 1/2) the employee's straight time rate of pay shall be paid for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours in any one workweek.

  • Weekend Premium Pay Any nurse who works on a weekend shall receive four dollars ($4.00) per hour premium pay for each hour worked on the weekend in addition to the nurse’s regular rate of pay. Weekend premium pay shall not be included in the nurse’s regular rate of pay for overtime pay calculations, unless required by the Fair Labor Standards Act. The weekend shall be defined as all hours between 11:00 p.m. Friday and 11:00 p. m. Sunday.

  • Safety Boot Allowance ‌ Effective January 1, 2022, except for temporary and probationary employees, the Employer agrees to pay one hundred and eighty-five dollars ($185.00) in January of each year towards the cost of safety boots for each full time employee requiring them and one hundred ($100.00) dollars for each part time employee requiring them under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and/or by the Employer, provided the Employee is not eligible for safety footwear through the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.

  • Training Premium Qualified Operators selected by the Employer to train new Operators shall be paid a training premium of 40¢ per hour while engaged in training work.

  • Premium Pay “Premium Pay” is a special pay rate for working during times that are less desirable, such as weekends, holidays or late shifts. The City will not pay the Consultant Premium Pay.

  • First Aid Premium First Aid Premiums shall apply when an employee is assigned by the Employer to be a First Aid Attendant on a job site and shall be paid as follows: Level II - $1.00 per hour. Level III - $2.00 per hour.

The payment of such premiums will cease on the effective date an employee retires, resigns, goes on disability retirement or his/her contract is terminated.
