SAFETY BOOT ALLOWANCE. All employees will receive one hundred and seventy five dollars ($175.00) annually as a Safety Boot Allowance. Boot allowances to be paid only on production of receipts. New employees with less than 12 months' service prior to May 1st of each calendar year shall receive a portion of the above allowance pro-rated to the number of full months employed with the Company.

Employees other than probationary employees will be granted a safety boot allowance as follows, payable on the employee’s anniversary date of employment. Effective June I, Temporary Foremen: Where the Company designates an employee as a temporary fore- man, the employee shall be paid a rate of per pay period in addition to his reg- ular rate. Where the employee is assigned to such a function during only part of a pay period, but for periods of one (1) normal day or more, the payment shall be made on a pro-rata basis. Rotating Shift Premium: Where the Company assigns an employee to a rotating shift, (necessitating the employee to alternate on day and night shifts) a rotating shift premium of per pay period will be paid in ad- dition to his regular rate. Where an employee is assigned to such a shift arrangement during only part of a pay period, the payment shall be made on a pro-rata basis. Employees whose shift rotation is such that they are on two (2) weeks of day shift for every one (1) week of night shift shall be paid two-thirds of the said rotat- ing shift premium per pay period.

Where after a period of twenty four (24) months has expired from the initial purchase, the employee satisfies the Company that winter safety boots have become unwearable as a result of normal usage on the company premises, the production of a receipt of purchase the Company shall reimburse the employee for the cost of a subsequent purchase to a maximum of one hundred and thirty ($150.00) dollars. Reimbursements in no event shall be made more frequently than once in respect of a twenty four (24) month period.
SAFETY BOOT ALLOWANCE. The calendar year used to administer boot allowance will commence on May 1 and end on April 30 of each year. Employees shall receive two hundred dollars ($200.00) annually as a boot allowance and the receipts will be submitted the same way as those submitted for tool allowance. (Reimbursement of the applicable allowance will occur once a year in the May 15th pay period provided that the employee has submitted the proper receipts prior to May 1st. Receipts need to be submitted one (1) time per year in April) . Boots must be WCB approved. This allowance may be used for boot repairs, for which receipts are required.
