Authorization Holds for Debit Card Transactions. 1. What is an Authorization Hold? When you use your debit card to pay for goods or services, the merchant may seek preauthorization from us for the transaction. When we preauthorize the transaction, we commit to make the requested funds available when the transaction finally posts and as such, we generally place a temporary hold against some or all of the funds in the account linked to your debit card, based on the amount of the preauthorization request from the merchant. We refer to this temporary hold as an “authorization hold,” and the amount of the authorization hold will be subtracted from your available balance as authorization requests are received by us throughout each day.

Authorization Holds for Debit Card Transactions. When you use your Card to pay for goods or services, you understand that some participating merchants (such as hotels, car rental companies, restaurants or gas stations) may initiate electronic notices seeking validation of the Card and/ or authorization of the anticipated purchase transaction. Upon a merchant seeking validation or authorization, we may place a temporary hold against the Checking Account for the amount requested by the merchant if your account’s available balance is sufficient for the requested transaction. Such an anticipated purchase amount may exceed the amount of the actual purchase transaction or may be less than the actual purchase transaction amount. We refer to this temporary hold as an “authorization hold,” and the amount of the authorization hold will be subtracted from your available balance (generally in real time as they are received by us throughout each day). Subsequently, when the transaction settles and posts to your account, we will release the hold and post the transaction to your account. No overdraft fees will be imposed on the transaction if the available balance was sufficient for the merchant’s request at the time the authorization hold was placed, even if the available balance is insufficient to pay the transaction at the time of posting. The amount of an authorization hold may differ from the actual transaction amount because the actual transaction amount may not yet be known to the merchant when the authorization request is submitted (such as a gas station purchase). This can happen at a restaurant or a gas station, where your debit card is swiped before your actual transaction amount is known, because you may choose to add a tip to a restaurant transaction or because the amount of gas you pump is unknown when your card is swiped. For those transactions, there may be no authorization hold, or the amount of the authorization hold may be different from the transaction amount. In some other cases we may not receive an authorization request from the merchant, and there will be no authorization hold reflected in your available balance. We cannot control how much a merchant asks us to authorize, or when a merchant submits a transaction for payment. We are permitted to place an authorization hold on your account for up to three (3) business days (or for up to thirty (30) business days for certain types of debit card transactions) from the time of the authorization.   • Card Transactions (a) Card Network Rules. When accepting payment card Transactions, you must comply with all applicable Card Network Rules, including the Visa Rules specified by Visa, the Mastercard Rules specified by Mastercard, and the Card Network Rules specified by American Express. Each Card Network may amend its Card Network Rules at any time without notice to you.

  • Authorization Holds You do not have the right to stop payment on any purchase transaction originated by use of your Mobile Wallet, other than transactions withing the Mobile Wallet Marketplace that display a cancel transaction button. When you use your Mobile Wallet to pay for goods or services, certain merchants may ask us to authorize the transaction in advance and the merchant may estimate its final value. When you use your Mobile Wallet to obtain cash at an ATM or from a bank teller, we will authorize the transaction in advance (including all applicable fees). When we authorize a purchase transaction, we commit to make the requested funds available when the transaction finally settles, and the Bank will place a temporary hold on your Mobile Wallet’s funds for the amount indicated by the merchant. If you authorize a transaction and then fail to make a purchase of that item as planned, the approval may result in a hold for that amount of funds. Car rentals, hotels and other service-oriented merchants may choose to factor in additional amounts upon check-in, and it may take up to sixty (60) days after your stay or your rental to have any excess amounts held by the hotel or rental company added back to your available balance. Similarly, some gas stations may factor in additional amounts to cover potential filling of the tank; if you want to avoid such a hold, you may want to pay inside the gas station, instead of paying at the pump. Until the transaction finally settles, the funds subject to the hold will not be available to you for other purposes. We will only charge your Mobile Wallet for the correct amount of the final transaction, and we will release any excess amount when the transaction finally settles. When you use your Mobile Wallet at certain restaurants and service-oriented merchants, there may be an additional 20% (or more) added to the authorization to cover any tip you may leave on the purchase. If this occurs, and your total bill, after adding in the additional 20% (or more), exceeds the amount available on your Mobile Wallet, your transactions may be declined. Accordingly, you should ensure that your Mobile Wallet has an available balance that is 20% (or more) greater than your total bill before using your Mobile Wallet.

  • Liability for all card transactions Subject to clause 9.3, you are liable for all card transactions effected by the use of the card at an ATM whether with or without your knowledge or authority, save in the case of our or our employees’ fraud, gross negligence or wilful default.

  • Visa Debit Card You may use your Card to purchase goods and services from participating merchants. If you wish to pay for goods or services over the Internet, you may be required to provide card number security information before you will be permitted to complete the transaction. You agree that you will not use your Card for any transaction that is illegal under applicable federal, state, or local law. Funds to cover your Card purchases will be deducted from your checking account. If the balance in your account is not sufficient to pay the transaction amount, the Credit Union may pay the amount and treat the transaction as a request to transfer funds from other deposit accounts, approved overdraft protection accounts or loan accounts that you have established with the Credit Union. If you initiate a transaction that overdraws your Account, you agree to make immediate payment of any overdrafts together with any service charges to the Credit Union. In the event of repeated overdrafts, the Credit Union may terminate all services under this Agreement. You may use your Card and PIN (Personal Identification Number) in ATMs of the Credit Union, Plus, VISA, CO-OP, and ACCEL networks, and such other machines or facilities as the Credit Union may designate. At the present time, you may also use your Card to: • Make deposits to your share savings and checking accounts. • Transfer funds from your share savings and checking accounts. • Obtain balance information for your share savings and checking accounts. • Make certain loan payments from your share savings and checking accounts. • Access your Personal Line of Credit account. • Make POS (Point-of-Sale) transactions with your Card and PIN (Personal Identification Number) to purchase goods or services at merchants that accept Visa. • Order goods or services by mail, Internet or telephone from places that accept Visa. • Some functions may be limited at non-proprietary ATMs; features may be limited to POS only, according to merchant. • Withdraw funds from your share savings and checking accounts. The following limitations on the frequency and amount of Visa Debit Card transactions may apply: • You may make 15 Debit Card purchases per day. • You may purchase up to a maximum of $3,500.00 per day. • You may make 15 cash withdrawals in any one (1) day from an ATM machine. • You may withdraw up to a maximum of $500.00 in any one (1) day from an ATM machine, if there are sufficient funds in your account. • You may make 15 POS transactions in any one (1) day. • You may purchase up to a maximum of $3,500.00 from POS terminals per day, if there are sufficient funds in your account. • You may transfer up to the available balance in your accounts at the time of the transfer. • If you incur a charge in a currency other than U.S. dollars, the charge will be converted into the US dollar amount. Please see the Foreign Transactions section below. Also, transactions in certain countries may be blocked and will require a manual or verbal authorization for approval. Please check with us prior to departure to determine if your destination country is atfected. However, the right to deny such transactions is within our sole discretion and atfected countries may change at any time.

  • Authorization, Etc This Agreement and the Notes have been duly authorized by all necessary corporate action on the part of the Company, and this Agreement constitutes, and upon execution and delivery thereof each Note will constitute, a legal, valid and binding obligation of the Company enforceable against the Company in accordance with its terms, except as such enforceability may be limited by (i) applicable bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, moratorium or other similar laws affecting the enforcement of creditors’ rights generally and (ii) general principles of equity (regardless of whether such enforceability is considered in a proceeding in equity or at law).

  • Deliverables for an Authorized User Agreement (Transaction Deliverables must be identified, as a measure of progress in the Authorized User Agreement. A Deliverable as a bulk number of hours is not permissible under the OGS Centralized Contract. Retainage As part of the Mini-Bid, the Authorized User may elect to retain a percentage of each individual Deliverable payment of no more than 20% until the acceptance of the complete Deliverable or project. This retainage may be reduced as described in the Mini-Bid, when the Contractor substantially reduces the time required from the timeframes negotiated between the Authorized User and the Contractor for the completion and acceptance of a Deliverable.

  • ACH Authorization Merchant authorizes Service Provider to initiate debit/credit entries to the Designated Account, the Reserve Account, or any other account maintained by Merchant at any institution, all in accordance with this Agreement. This authorization will remain in effect beyond termination of this Agreement. In the event Merchant changes the Designated Account, this authorization will apply to the new account.

  • International ACH Transactions You understand that in the event an International ACH Transaction (“IAT”) Entry that is transmitted to or from any of your accounts is identified and designated by the Credit Union’s screening criteria for review and examination under the OFAC Rules and Regulations (“OFAC Rules”). The settlement of such an IAT Entry may be delayed or suspended pending the Credit Union’s review of the IAT Entry, and may be terminated under applicable OFAC Rules. You acknowledge that we may be required to place an indefinite hold on the funds covered by the IAT Entry if the IAT Entry is required to be terminated under the OFAC Rules. You agree that any delay described above will be a permissible delay under the regulations applicable to the availability of funds held in deposit accounts. In the event an IAT Entry is delayed or terminated, we will provide you such notice as may be required by applicable laws and regulations.
