Principal Investigator definition

Principal Investigator or “PI” is the person, designated by University, and accepted by Sponsor, who is directly responsible for executing, directing, overseeing and reporting a Sponsored Project under this Agreement.
Principal Investigator means the Personnel who is identified as principally responsible for the performance and supervision of research associated with a Contract.
Principal Investigator means the person who will take primary responsibility for the conduct of the Clinical Trial at the Trial Site or any other person as may be agreed between the Parties as a replacement;

Examples of Principal Investigator in a sentence

  • A user approved by the relevant Data Access Committee(s) to access one or more datasets for a specified period of time and only for the purposes outlined in the Principal Investigator (PI)’s approved Research Use Statement.

  • The parties to this Agreement include: the Principal Investigator (PI) requesting access to the genomic study dataset (an “Approved User”), the PI’s home institution (the “Requester”) as represented by the Institutional Signing Official designated through the eRA Commons system, and the NIH.

  • Nothing in this clause or Agreement affects any pre-existing contractual or other arrangement which may be in place between the Institution and the Principal Investigator.

More Definitions of Principal Investigator

Principal Investigator means, if the Applicant is a Post-secondary Institution and if the Application identified a principal investigator or designated an individual as a chair, the individual who is identified in the Application as the principal investigator or the chair for the Project. For avoidance of doubt, more than one principal investigator may be identified for the Project, but only one chair may be identified;
Principal Investigator means the individual designated by the Authorized User to be responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements in this Agreement. The Authorized User may also be the Principal Investigator.
