Contracting work definition

Contracting work means and includes submitting a bid to perform construction work for another, the furnishing of work, or both materials and work, for another (by a sole contractor, general contractor, prime contractor, or subcontractor) in fulfillment of a contract for the construction, alteration, repair, decoration, or improvement of a new or existing building or structure, or any part thereof, or for the alteration, capital improvement, or development of real property, or performing activity governed by any or all state building codes and the National Fire Protection Association Code and the National Electrical Code or its successor. The terms “contractor” and “contracting” are synonymous.

  • Extra Work means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.

  • Completion of work means completion of the entire contracted work. Exhaustion of quantity of any particular item mentioned in the bid document shall not imply completion of work or any component thereof.

  • EPC Contractor means Seller’s engineering, procurement and construction contractor or such Person performing those functions.

  • Project Schedule means a document that, with respect to each Phase of the Project, identifies, coordinates and integrates the anticipated design and construction schedules, the Contracting Authority’s and Owner's responsibilities, government authority reviews and other activities as are necessary for the timely completion of the Work.
