Use of Fixed Term Employment. The Employer will not use fixed term contract positions for the purpose of undermining the job security or conditions of full‑time ongoing Employees. In accordance with the principle set out in clause 15.6(a), the use of fixed term employment in all areas covered by this Agreement is limited to: replacement of Employees proceeding on approved leave; meeting fluctuating client and employment needs and unexpected increased workloads; undertaking a specified task which is funded for a specified period; filling a vacancy resulting from an Employee undertaking a temporary assignment or secondment; temporarily filling a vacancy where, following an appropriate selection process, a suitable ongoing Employee is not available; or filling a vacant role whilst a review of the area is undertaken, provided that such appointment does not exceed a period of twelve months. In other than exceptional or unforeseen circumstances, fixed term appointments to a specific position shall be for a maximum of three years, subject to clause 51 (Parental Leave). Where an Employee is posted overseas the limitations on the use of fixed term employment outlined in this clause do not apply.

  • Fixed Term Employment 25.1 A fixed term Employee is an Employee who is employed for a specified period of time, which period is known at the commencement of the contract, or for a specified task such as a project or replacement of an absent employee.

  • Outside Employment Employees may engage in other employment outside of their State working hours so long as the outside employment does not involve a conflict of interest with their State employment. Whenever it appears that any such outside employment might constitute a conflict of interest, the employee is expected to consult with his/her appointing authority or other appropriate agency representative prior to engaging in such outside employment. Employees of agencies where there are established procedures concerning outside employment for the purpose of insuring compliance with specific statutory restrictions on outside employment are expected to comply with such procedures.

  • EMPLOYMENT TERM AND COMPENSATION A. The Board hereby employs the Employee for a salary of $6,547 per bi-weekly pay period ($170,210 Annualized), payable in installments less any legally authorized deductions as the DBM D71, Director, Application Development.

  • Cyclic Year Employment The Employer may fill a position with a cyclic year appointment for positions scheduled to work less than twelve (12) full months each year, due to known, recurring periods in the annual cycle when the position is not needed. At least fifteen (15) days before the start of each annual cycle, incumbents of cyclic year positions will be informed, in writing, of their scheduled periods of leave without pay in the ensuing cycle. Such periods of leave without pay will not constitute a break in service. When additional work is required of a cyclic position during a period for which the position was scheduled for leave without pay, the temporary work will be offered to the incumbent. The incumbent will be allowed at least three (3) working days in which to accept or decline the offer. Should the incumbent decline the work, it will be offered to other cyclic employees, in the same classification, with the necessary skills and abilities, in order of seniority, before being filled by other means.
