Unpaid Leave for Educational and Professional Purposes. Upon the written request of a teacher, the Board may grant an unpaid leave of absence for a period of not more than one (1) school year, for educational or professional purposes. Other purposes for use of unpaid leave shall be determined at the discretion of the Superintendent, who shall base his/her decision on educational professional benefits to the school district and to the employee requesting such leave. The beginning and termination of such leave shall be scheduled at either the beginning or end of a semester. Such leave may be renewed upon written request of the teacher. Upon return from leave, a member of the instructional staff shall be given an assignment consistent with his/her area of certification.

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.

  • PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION A. The basic salaries of teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix A which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. Such salary schedule shall remain in effect during the designated periods.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.

  • Professional Dues The school district will pay the annual dues for the Superintendent’s membership in the American Association of School Administrators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Nebraska Council of School Administrators. The Superintendent’s membership in other professional organizations will be considered annually and may be approved at the discretion of the school board.
