Targeting of RDPP phase II Sample Clauses

Targeting of RDPP phase II. Country focus: Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon. The RDPP phase II will continue to focus on Iraq (Northern Iraq), Jordan and Lebanon, albeit increasing the focus on Northern Iraq compared to phase I. As such phase II will retain and build on the geographical focus of phase I, Turkey will not be covered by the programme, as this is covered by other instruments and according to the UN response plans funding requirement per refugee is higher in the three focus countries.8 As in phase I geographical priority areas of intervention will be based on vulnerability e.g from interagency mapping, which reflects high refugee caseloads, vulnerability of host communities, high levels of social tensions etc. This will be specified in the calls for proposals and further elaborated in the negotiation with partners. Groups: Syrian refugees, vulnerable host communities and IDPs. Targeted beneficiaries will as in phase I, be Syrian refugees and host communities. Their inclusion will mainly be based on a needs-basis, but also adhere to specific regulations in the countries. While the programme is centred around the Syrian displacement, refugees of other nationalities can also be included as beneficiaries, where present and relevant. In addition to these groups, the programme will also include a focus on Iraqi IDPs in Northern Iraq. Iraq has the third highest number of IDPs in the world, with nearly 3.3 million internally displaced. Employment opportunities for both host residents, IDPs and refugees are limited within the region in light of deteriorating political and economic conditions. Resultantly, negative coping mechanisms such as child labour, child marriage, and engagement in exploitative labour conditions are becoming more common. SGBV is also increasing. As such the IDPs in Northern Iraq will be included in the programming as they face similar protection and livelihoods needs as the Syrian refugees and are located in the same targeted areas of intervention. In addition to a particular focus on IDPs in Northern Iraq, the programme will target out-of-camp refugees. It is estimated that 80-90 percent of Syrian refugees live in urban and peri-urban areas in Jordan and Lebanon. This necessitates a specific approach due to the de-concentrated nature, but also offers a more conducive environment for self-reliance and temporary integration. 8 Comparing the UN funding requirements to the country response plans, where the funding required per refugee is almost 10 times higher in Jordan...
