Substitution of Vacation for Sick Leave. When an employee has used all of his earned sick leave and is unable to return to work, vacation may be substituted for sick leave, if requested by the employee, for the balance of the period of disability or until all vacation has been used.

Substitution of Vacation for Sick Leave. An employee who qualifies for sick leave under Article 18 while on vacation may change the status of her/his leave to sick leave effective the date of notification to the Employer. The employee shall submit on her/his return to duty a med- ical certificate stating the total period during which she/he qualified for sick leave.
