Staff Development Funds. 11A Bargaining unit members shall be allowed to participate in projects to be funded from AB 1725 staff development funds carried over from prior years until such funds are exhausted. Upon exhaustion of such funds this program will cease, provided however if the State restores funding to the program, the District will restore the program, including the staff development advisory committee set forth in the 2009-11 Agreement. Staff Development Funds. Each staff member will receive $500 in staff development funds which may be used for professional development activities such as but not limited to: workshop/registration fees and publications, with the approval of the building principal.
Staff Development Funds. Recognizing the importance of professional development for the growth of its employees, the College shall provide a $15,000 Professional Development Fund (starting July 1, 2006) for classified staff to support both full and part-time staff development activities related to their job responsibilities or objectives, and/or beneficial with respect to the functions and goals of the College. Effective July 1, 2021, the following changes shall become effective:

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund.
