School Board Meeting Procedure. Agenda The School Board President is responsible for focusing the Board meeting agendas on appropriate content. The Superintendent shall prepare agendas in consultation with the Board President. Each Board meeting agenda shall contain the general subject matter of any item that will be the subject of final action at the meeting. Any Board member may submit suggested agenda items to the Board President for his or her consideration. District residents may suggest inclusions for the agenda. The Board will take final action only on items contained in the posted agenda; items not on the agenda may still be discussed.

The President shall designate a portion of the agenda as a consent agenda for those items that usually do not require extensive discussion before Board action. Upon the request of any Board member, an item will be withdrawn from the consent agenda and placed on the regular agenda for independent consideration. Each Board meeting agenda shall contain the general subject matter of any item that will be the subject of final action at the meeting. Items submitted by Board members to the Superintendent or the President shall be placed on the agenda for an upcoming meeting. District residents may suggest inclusions for the agenda. The Board will take final action only on items contained in the posted agenda; items not on the agenda may still be discussed. District residents wishing to have an item placed on the agenda, must submit a written request to the Superintendent's office with specific details as to any requested action by the School Board no later 48 hours prior to a regular School Board meeting. The Board will review the request at that meeting and decide an appropriate response to the request. The Superintendent will notify the requester in writing of the response. Otherwise, District residents may still present to the School Board during the "Community Input" agenda item. Items may be added to the agenda at the beginning of a regular meeting; no action will be taken on such items.

  • Recording Board Meetings Any person may record or broadcast an open Board meeting.
