Safety Shoes and Glasses. The City will provide an employee purchase plan whereby authorized employees will be able to purchase personal protective equipment (shoes, glasses) including corrective lenses. The purchase program shall make these items available to the employee at forty percent (40%) of the cost, with the City paying the remaining sixty percent (60%). However, when the City requires the use of safety shoes or special soled shoes, one hundred percent (100%) of the cost shall be borne by the City. The Human Resources Department shall determine which employees will be authorized to purchase equipment through this program. If and when safety shoes and/or glasses are worn out or damaged while on duty, such employee will turn in to the Department Head or Division Head said worn out or damaged safety shoes and/or glasses, whereas the City representative shall have them replaced, at no cost to the employee (on required safety shoes only).

Safety Shoes and Glasses. Protective footwear shall be worn on the job during activities of any hazard exposure in order for the employee to be allowed to work each day. Specifications of all protection footwear shall be provided to the employees, as approved by the Employer, to assure WISHA compliance. The Employer Agrees to provide City- specified glasses for purposes such as drilling and fabricating work.
Safety Shoes and Glasses. 23.01 Effective date of ratification, the Company will pay the cost of one (1) pair of safety shoes per calendar year up to a maximum of ninety-five ($95.00) dollars for employees who have completed their probationary period. Any additional requirements will be determined on an as needed basis. Effective November 1, 2001 increase $95.00 to $100.00.
