Rates for Temporary Upgrading Sample Clauses

Rates for Temporary Upgrading. An employee who is temporarily assigned to a job classification carrying a higher rate of pay than his regular job for two (2) hours or more shall receive the rate of pay for the job classification to which he is temporarily assigned for all hours worked on the job carrying the higher rate of pay. This section does not apply to shift workers because of job progression. Since temporary assignment to a higher job classification does not require the employee to be qualified to perform all functions of that classification in order to receive temporary upgrade in pay, it is agreed that temporary upgrading to a position will not necessarily qualify an employee for that position in the event the employee applies for that position pursuant to Article X, Section 3.
