Other Discretionary Leave. An absence of short duration, not to exceed five (5) days, for reasons other than those specified in this Agreement may be granted, without pay, at the discretion of the Food Service Director or designee.

Other Discretionary Leave. Other discretionary leave may or may not be granted with or without pay at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools. Such leave shall not be subject to the grievance procedure and will not be precedent setting.

  • Discretionary Leave 7.7.1 The employer may, where there are special circumstances, xxxxx discretionary leave with or without pay to any principal during periods when the school is officially open for instruction, provided that such leave does not unreasonably impinge upon the operational requirements of the school.   • UNPAID DISCRETIONARY LEAVE 1. a. An employee shall be entitled to a minimum of three (3) days of unpaid discretionary leave each year.

  • Election Leave Employees shall be allowed four (4) consecutive hours off before the closing of polls in any federal, provincial election.

  • Restoration of Vacation Leave In the event an employee is injured or becomes ill while on vacation leave, the employee may submit a written request to use sick leave and have the equivalent amount of vacation leave restored. The supervisor may require a written medical certificate.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Civic Leave Section 1 - Election Board Employees may be granted leave for public services on Election Boards with compensation for the difference between payment for election Board duty and the regular salary, provided the school salary is greater.

Employees who are incapacitated for the performance of duties because of serious disability or ailment may request advance sick leave not to exceed two hundred and forty (240) hours. These two hundred and forty (240) hours of sick leave may be advanced to an employee with a medical emergency related to the adoption of a child, for family care or bereavement purposes, or to care for a family member with a serious health condition.
