If assigning NTA SNAP recipients to participate in SNAP E&T work activities, the district must include case management services as part of their E&T program. Case management may include comprehensive intake assessments, individual service plans, progress monitoring, or coordination with service providers. Additionally, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (Farm Bill) replaces job search programs with supervised job search. If the district is offering supervised job search as an E&T activity component, the district must describe in part b. of this section how the job search activity will be supervised and tracked, including the frequency of monitoring the participant’s job search efforts. If the district is not mandating SNAP E&T work activity assignments, please describe in part c. how NTA SNAP work registrants are informed of the services available, upon request, for assistance with job search activities.

Non-exempt NTA SNAP individuals who voluntarily elect to participate in the work requirements will have an assessment completed and assigned to a work activity. Case Management Services are provided to all participants enrolled in SNAP Employment & Training activities. The following case management services are provided: completion of employability assessment, employability plan, one on one case management to discuss barriers (educational/employment, etc.), referrals to activities such as job search, trainings, job fairs, employment, educational programs, health services, housing programs, and coordination with service providers to ascertain client participation and progress. If an individual is not successful in an assigned work activity, employment training or educational program, the Employment Services Unit will conduct a one-on-one case management session to address any identifiable barriers or will assign to another work activity that will better serve the needs of the individual as outlined in the assessment.

(Please note: Case management services must be provided to all participants enrolled in SNAP E&T activity): Niagara County will require Non-Temporary Assistance Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (NTA SNAP) recipients to participate in SNAP E&T work activities. All non-exempt NTA SNAP individuals will be called in for an assessment at certification and recertification and assigned to supervised Job Search. At minimum 20 hours per week (approx. 10 contacts per week) are assigned. This can include time spent identifying, applying, interviewing and follow-up. These contacts are submitted each week on a Participant Job Search Log and are monitored by OTDA Jobs Staff, NCDSS Employment Case Managers, NCDSS Job Developer for hours and reasonableness. Number of hours of participation is tracked through WTWCMS. The supervised Job Search assignment is to be made for a period not to exceed 90 days. If an individual is not successful at finding a job, then an assignment to another work activity, such as Work Experience may be made. NTA SNAP work registrants are informed at application and recertification of services available. If the client has any questions regarding job search services, the Employment Case Manager will address them. The Case Manager will also assist with other activities including referrals to WorkSourceOne, the OTDA Job Specialist, NCDSS Job Developer or Work Experience if slots are available and will address barriers to employment and provide supportive services if needed.

  • Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act The following clauses apply to any Federal-aid construction contract in an amount in excess of $100,000 and subject to the overtime provisions of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act.   • CONTRACT WORK HOURS AND SAFETY STANDARDS As per the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act (40 U.S.C. 3701-3708), where applicable, all Customer Purchase Orders in excess of ,000 that involve the employment of mechanics or laborers must include a provision for compliance with 40 U.S.C. 3702 and 3704, as supplemented by Department of Labor regulations (29 CFR Part 5). Under 40 U.S.C. 3702 of the Act, each contractor must be required to compute the wages of every mechanic and laborer on the basis of a standard work week of 40 hours. Work in excess of the standard work week is permissible provided that the worker is compensated at a rate of not less than one and a half times the basic rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in the work week. The requirements of 40 U.S.C. 3704 are applicable to construction work and provide that no laborer or mechanic must be required to work in surroundings or under working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous. These requirements do not apply to the purchases of supplies or materials or articles ordinarily available on the open market, or contracts for transportation or transmission of intelligence.

  • Proposal Work Authorizations The State may issue a proposal work authorization under which the Engineer will submit a proposal for additional work. The proposal must be for additional work that is within the defined scope of work under this contract. The amount to be paid for a proposal work authorization will be a lump sum for each proposal. The lump sum payment will be no less than two percent (2%) and no more than four percent (4%) of the State's estimate of the cost of the additional work. The Engineer may elect without penalty not to submit a proposal in response to a proposal work authorization. Any proposal submitted in response to a proposal work authorization will be the sole property of the State. The State may, at its option, issue similar or identical proposal work authorizations under other contracts, and the proposals submitted in response to the various proposal work authorizations may be compared by the State for the purpose of determining the contract under which the work will be awarded. The determination of the contract under which the work will be awarded will be based on the design characteristics of the proposal and the Engineer's qualifications and will not consider the Engineer's rates.
