Leave of Absence for Family Care. A family care leave, without pay, shall be granted, upon request by an employee for a total of up to six (6) consecutive months within a two (2) year period. The employee requesting the leave must have a minimum of one (1) year continuous service in the bargaining unit at the time of the request. The employee shall be guaranteed reinstatement in accordance with his seniority at the end of his leave. Any employee who wishes to change his or her date to return to work shall notify the Store Manager two (2) weeks in advance of the date they intend to return. The purpose of this leave shall be to care for seriously ill family members or to address issues that arise from the military deployment of a family member.   • Leave of Absence for College Committees An employee whose assigned work schedule would prevent her/him from attending meetings of a college committee to which s/he has been elected or appointed, will be granted a leave of absence from her/his regular duties without loss of pay or other entitlements to attend such meeting(s).
