General Association Leave. Should any member of the Association be selected to a committee within the larger Association (i.e. UniServ, WEA, and NEA) and find it necessary to be away from their teaching duties, they shall request such leave in writing from the Superintendent or designee and such leave shall be granted up to fifteen (15) days per year. The appropriate organization shall reimburse the District for the cost of any necessary substitutes. Additional days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. This leave shall not be deducted from the Association leave of forty (40) days.

General Association Leave. The District will grant up to fifteen (15) days per year to employees for the purpose of conducting Association business. Requests shall be made by the MEA President to the Superintendent or designee, and the leave shall be granted in cases where no more than five employees are to be absent for this leave on a given day. Three days notice shall be given by the Association when more than one employee will be absent for Association leave on a given day. This leave may be granted in one•hour increments. The Association shall reimburse the District for the full cost of needed substitutes.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid released time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year.

The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Education Leave (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.

  • Restoration of Vacation Leave In the event an employee is injured or becomes ill while on vacation leave, the employee may submit a written request to use sick leave and have the equivalent amount of vacation leave restored. The supervisor may require a written medical certificate.
