Extended Leave Bank. (ELB) Employees hired before January 1, 2009, may have accrued hours in the ELB according to the conversion policies of the Crow Wing County PTO Plan approved by the County Board of Commissioners on October 23, 2007. The ELB may be used for illness or disability for the employee or to care for immediate family members of greater than three workdays on the same basis as the prior sick leave. Absence due to illness, disability or injury may be taken from the ELB or from the PTO Plan, at the employee’s choice; however, the supervisor may require acceptable medical verification that the absence qualified under the prior sick leave requirements before approving the use of ELB time.

Extended Leave Bank. There shall be established a Sick Leave Pool benefit for employees. Sick Leave Pool benefits shall be available to employees employed by the District that meets the requirements listed below. Sick Leave Pool hours will be kept separately.   • Extended Leave Extended leaves of absence of at least three (3) but not more than five (5) years may be granted in accordance with Minnesota law. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, retention and accrual of all rights and benefits for ASF Members on extended leave shall be governed by Minnesota Statute Section 136F.43.

Notwithstanding any other section of this Agreement, retention and accrual of all rights and benefits for faculty on extended leave shall be governed by Minnesota Statutes § 136F.43. Faculty members shall be returned to the unit in accordance with Article 29, Section B, Subd. 1, and shall be returned to the salary schedule at the step at which they were placed when they left the unit, with accommodation for general increases in the indicated step. If the faculty member’s service to the university in the year the faculty member left the unit qualified for an increase in the succeeding year, then the faculty member shall be entitled to that increase upon return to the unit. Seniority shall not accrue during the years faculty members are on extended leave.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Extended Leave of Absence Professional employees who have attained renewable contract status may request extended leaves of absence for one (1) year without pay under any one of the circumstances listed in this section. All requests for such extended leave of absence will be applied for and granted or rejected in writing. Such application will be reviewed by the principal and superintendent. If the latter approves, he/she will recommend that the leave be granted by the Board. An employee returning from an extended leave will be assigned to the same position as that which he/she held before assuming the leave, providing that position still exists. By mutual agreement between the employer and the employees, he/she may be given a different assignment. Extended leaves of absence may be requested under, but not limited to, the following:

  • Extended Illness Leave 1. Extended Illness Leave, hereinafter referred to as “EIL” shall be established for Administrative Support Group, XXXX, Clerical, and Educational Assistant personnel who are absent due to their own personal illness or injury following the exhaustion of their accumulated illness, vacation and annual allotment of short term leave. Eligibility for Extended Illness Leave includes completion of employee’s probationary period.

  • Self-Funded Leave 25.2.1 An employee may apply to participate in the self funded leave plan as permitted under the Income Tax Act (Canada) in order to defer pre-tax salary dollars to fund a leave of absence. The deferral period must be at least one (1) year and not more than four (4) years.

  • EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE 1. Military leave without pay shall be granted to any employee who is inducted in any branch of the armed forces of the United States for the period of said service.

  • Formal Collective Bargaining Leave Leave without pay may be granted to participate in formal collective bargaining sessions authorized by RCW 41.80.

  • Union Training Leave 46.1 An Employee elected as Union Delegate shall, upon application in writing to the Employer, be granted up to five days paid leave each calendar year to attend relevant Union Delegate courses. Such courses shall be designed and structured with the objective of promoting good industrial relations within the building and construction industry.

  • Self-Funded Leave Plan 26.01 The Self Funded Leave Plan has been developed to afford Employees the opportunity of taking up to one year leave of absence and, through deferral of salary, to finance the leave subject to the regulations under the Income Tax Act.
