Sick time definition

Sick time means time that is provided by an employer to an employee that can be used for the purposes described in subdivision a of section 20-914 of this chapter, whether or not compensation for that time is required pursuant to this chapter.
Sick time means time during which an employee is permitted to be absent from work for a reason authorized under ORS 653.616 without a reduction in benefits, including but not limited to health care benefits, that the employee earns from the employer.
Sick time means time off from work that has been earned and accrued and may be used by an Employee under this Chapter and which that is calculated at the same hourly rate and with the same benefits, including health care benefits, as the Employee normally earns during hours worked and is provided by an Employer to an Employee at the accrual rate described in Section 9.01.040030 and for the purposes described in Section 9.01.050.

Examples of Sick time in a sentence

  • Sick time provided pursuant to the Oregon Family Leave Act in ORS 659A.159 or ORS Domestic Violence Leave in 659A.272 runs concurrently with sick time provided pursuant to ORS 653.601 to 653.661.

  • Sick time to which an employee is entitled must be paid no later than the payday for the next regular payroll period beginning after the sick time was used.

  • Members may use accumulated sick leave for any reason set forth in the Oregon Sick time statute (ORS 653.601 et.seq.).
