EVALUATION OF TRAINEES. Trainees will be evaluated periodically, at least at the completion of each step in the Waste Management Mechanic Training Schedule to determine eligibility for continuing or advancing within the program. If a Trainee is determined to be incapable of continuing or of being promoted, he may exercise his seniority and return to any previous classification. Trainees will be promoted to Waste Management Mechanic based upon ability and length of service as a Trainee. Trainees will be evaluated by the Laboratory in consultation with the Union representative designated by the Union. If there is an opening in the Waste Management Mechanic classification and the selected applicant has completed the Waste Management Mechanic Trainee Program, he shall be paid at the maximum rate in Appendix A for the Waste Management Mechanic classification upon his entry into that classification.
