Enhanced Longevity. In any three (3) consecutive years following the completion of twenty (20) years of service in the field of education with the Somerset or Somerset Berkley Public Schools, a bargaining unit member has the option of augmenting his/her salary by $500.00 a year. In any three (3) consecutive years following the completion of twenty-five (25) years of service in the field of education with the Somerset or Somerset Berkley Public Schools, a bargaining unit member has the option of augmenting his/her salary by $833.33 a year. An eligible employee shall be allowed to select either the twenty year augmented longevity benefit or the twenty-five year augmented longevity benefit, but not both. Such augmented longevity shall be in lieu of any benefits to which a bargaining unit member is otherwise entitled pursuant to Appendix A, Article

Any bargaining unit member who leaves the district prior to receiving the three (3) year benefit shall forfeit any remaining amount to which he/she would otherwise have been entitled.
Enhanced Longevity. For any employee who previously selected enhanced longevity, the following still applies: A Unit E member’s right to receive regular longevity payments referenced in Section 1 above and any sick leave buy-back under Section 10 of Article 5 will cease upon exercising the three-year option set forth herein.
